Five new champions were crowned yesterday. The best of the competitive coffee professionals in Norway gathered at Foodtech in Oslo the last three days to vie for the judges’ favour. There was a mix of veteran and new competitors this year, including most of last years’ champions. The new champions will go to either Seattle or Gothenburg to compete in the world championships later this year.

Without further ado, here are the new champions!

The 2015 Cup Tasting champion is Jan Lorentzen, the daily manager of Bergen’s Kaffemisjonen.

Coffee in Good Spirits winner this year is Monica Strøm from Dromedar in Trondheim.

Both the Brewers Cup and Latte Art competitions saw last years’ champions— Odd-Steinar Tøllefsen and Simon Alteblad—defend their titles. Odd-Steinar and Simon both work at Supreme Roastworks in Oslo, at the top of Grünerløkka.

Alexander Lenouvel Hansen, the 2013 Brewers Cup Champion, won the main competition and is now the 2015 Norwegian Barista Champion! Second and third place were taken by Lise Rømo (this years’ Oslo winner) and former national champion Rasmus Helgebostad, respectively. All three of them(!) work at Java located at Oslo’s Sankthanshaugen.

If you happen to be in Oslo, you could do much worse than to take a stroll between Java and Supreme Roastworks—the distance is eminently walkable—to sample the goods at the workplaces of 3/5 current coffee champions!
